I spent all day reading about the D70. Custom curves..RAW...NEF...brain...hurts. In the end, I think I'm getting better results. This is a leaf. Actually two.
Had it about four months. Still figuring out how to get good shots. Finally loaded some custom curves and started shooting in RAW, which really seems to make the pictures "pop" as the photogs like to say.
It is the Optima curve and some post-processing in PhotoShop. Recently I've more or less ditched the curves and concentrate on correcting exposure, contrast, shadows, and white balance with PhotoShop CS' RAW plug-in.
The camera and I are going to Vancouver for business this week. Hope to get some good shots there.

So, you own a D70 now, eh?

That's a purty one.
Which curve did you use? It has a nice combination of sharpness for detail and contrast to your colors.
Did you doctor it in photoshop?
